Oral and maxilofacial surgery
Oral surgery is the specialization aimed at diagnosing and surgically treating diseases, trauma and defects of the teeth, mouth, jaws and their adjacent tissues, both in functional and aesthetic terms. The most frequent procedure that covers oral surgery is the dental extraction of pieces in poor condition or third molars (wisdom teeth). On the other hand, maxillofacial surgery is in charge of those pathological processes that affect the face and neck, in addition to being the area that treats skeletal disorders through surgery.
